Cody, Lillian Esther
Lillian Esther Cody, 88, of Carthage, Mo., died Feb. 26, 2011, in McCune-Brooks Hospital, Carthage. Funeral services were March 1 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Carthage, with Father Bill Hodgson officiating. Burial: Park Cemetery, Carthage. Arrangements with Knell Mortuary in Carthage.
Survivors include her children, Theresa Erwin and husband Rob of Carthage, Mo., and Steve Cody and wife Chris of Mount Vernon; sisters, Ardis Moore of Red Oak and Evelyn Cross; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Cody; her parents, George and Olive (Haak) Kirkpatrick; a sister, Bonny Graham; and two brothers, Leo and Roe Kirkpatrick.
Lillian E. Cody was born Feb. 1, 1923, in Martelle, Iowa, to George and Olive (Haak) Kirkpatrick. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1941 and married Michael Cody on Aug. 26, 1950, in Lisbon. Two children were born to this union. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church at the time of her passing.
