Reinecke, Joyce E.
Joyce E. Reinecke, 89, a resident of Village Ridge in Marion, died Thursday, May 30, 2013, at the care center in Marion. Funeral Service: 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 3, at the funeral home in Marion. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her two sons, Richard (Jean McGee) Reinecke of Cedar Rapids and David (Lorna) Reinecke of Marion; grandson, Aaron Reinecke of Marion; siblings, Barbara (Richard) Wiegle, Gerald (Judy) Bendle, Kenneth (Shirley) Bendle, Elizabeth Hedrick, Charles (Nancy) Bendle, Larry (Mary) Bendle, John (Audrey)Bendle and Susanne (Frank) Passen; and sister-in-law, Judy Bendle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin; brothers, Raymond, Eldon and Robert Bendle; brothers-in-law, Robert Hendrick and John Sublett; and sister, LaVonne Bendle.
Joyce was born Dec. 21, 1923, in Chicago, the daughter of Eldon and Albertha (Kross) Bendle. She was one of 13 brothers and sisters. Joyce married Edwin Reinecke on May 24, 1947. Edwin died Feb. 12, 1990. She and Edwin ran their own business, J&E Trading, for 25 years.
Joyce was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Marion. She enjoyed baking, refinishing furniture, and was an avid antiques collector. Joyce especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandson, Aaron.
The family would like to thank the staff at Village Ridge and Hospice Compassus for their loving care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church at 1298 Seventh Ave., Marion, IA 52302, or the Alzheimer's Association in Joyce's memory.
