Connie Lou Boe, 73, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, June 21, 2015, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice of Mercy. Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Thursday, June 25, at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. Private family burial to be held at a later date.
Survivors include her two daughters, Kari (Don) Carlson of Olathe, Kan., and Kelly Boe of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, Lacey, Zach, Cassidy and Connor Carlson and Valerie and Daniel Zeck; sister-in-law, Linda (Boe) Yaley; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her faithful pet companion, Teddy.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Connie was born Aug. 1, 1941, the only child of Lewis and Valeria (Woods) Harden in Manchester. She graduated from Manchester High School in 1959. On April 26, 1962, Connie married Donald Boe, who passed away in August 2012. She attended Paris Academy Cosmetology School in Cedar Rapids and went on to work for Killian's Beauty Shop at the Lindale Mall for 17 years. She also worked for Armstrong's Department Store for 13 years. The job she enjoyed most, though, was cleaning condos for the condo association. She greatly enjoyed bowling, gardening and weekly Thursday outings, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
