Robert Dale Shatzer, 86, of Jesup, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Palliative Care Unit, Iowa City. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov 16, at American Lutheran Church, Jesup, with burial in Union Cemetery, Aurora. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at White Funeral Home, Jesup, and before services Monday at the church.
Bob was born Aug. 21, 1929, in Oran, Iowa, the son of Harry O. and Mary (Schnell) Shatzer. On June 5, 1955, he married Patricia Marie Matteson at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Aurora. She preceded him in death Jan. 28, 2014.
Survivors include his sons, Brad (Jackie) of Cedar Falls, Dale (Sarah) of Chambersburg, Pa., Bruce (Kari) of Woodridge, Ill., and Nyle of Tripoli; and daughters, Sonja (Paul) Gibbs of Marion and Angela (David) Zimmer of Polk City; and 14 grandchildren.
Memorials will be directed to American Lutheran Church, Jesup, and the Jesup High School Booster Club.
