Matherly asked to better connect police with community

I challenge Iowa City Police Chief Jody Matherly to make a change to get law enforcement more united with the community. This would help improve community-police relationships, lower crime rates, and lead to a better future with less incarceration.
Community members who have a good relationship with law enforcement are more willing to share information that helps in solving crimes. Training to reduce bias and prejudice and to understand mental health will help law enforcement treat all community members equally.
Police brutality affects me because I am a young person who does not like being around cops. I want police officers to remember that their job is to protect the community.
