Letter: Let’s eliminate the speed limit

Regarding the Dec. 22 story 'Side effects loom if Iowa OKs traffic camera ban”:
It seems politically correct people have gotten to the Capital in Des Moines and convinced our legislators to get rid of those 'unfair” and 'money making” devices so they can drive at the speed they want.
They seem to want a free pass to drive the way they want rather than obey the law. Yes, the speed limit is a law in the same way stealing is a law.
J Avenue northbound and southbound had 119,281 tickets issued in 2015. That's in a 55 mph area. Since the tickets aren't issued until an individual is going 12 mph over the speed limit, that means those cars were going at least 67 mph.
Let's eliminate all laws and let them do what they want. Seriously?
