Mildred Joyce Miller was born Aug. 13, 1935, in Iowa City. She attended schools in Iowa City, graduating from City High School in 1953. She was united in marriage to Kenneth W. Bream on July 28, 1953. The couple made their home there, where she cherished raising their children. She worked outside their home for a number of years first at Mercy Hospital and later in the lunchroom at South East Junior High School, where she could continue to care for young people! Tootie and Ken loved to travel in later years. She was an avid reader, and many family and friends have pieces of her cross-stitching she enjoyed doing. Tootie was also known to plug a few slot machines in her day!
Her family includes her three children, Kenneth W. Bream II, Steve Bream and his wife, Gail; and Deb Irvin and her husband, Dick; six grandchildren, Kenneth, Bryan (Carissa), Chris, Travis (Torrie), Jake (Cindy) and Colin; two great-grandchildren, Abel and Charlotte; a number of stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren; and Tootie's sister, Grace Boorman. And after Ken's death a dear friend was made, her dog, Muffin.
Tootie was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Kenneth Miller; and her sister, Lila Miller.
