Dolley, Scott W.
Scott W. Dolley, 51, of Marion, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Memorial Service: 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at Ascension Lutheran Church, Marion, by Pastor Linda Livingston. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
Survivors include his wife, Sheryl of Marion; children, Mitchell (Sarah), Jenna and Justin Dolley; father, Gordon (Jeannie) Dolley; mother, Jewel Dolley; mother-in-law, Corrine Sutton; brothers, Bill (Linda) Dolley of Beuford, S.C., Bart (Judy) Dolley of Flower Mound, Texas, Chad (Karen) Dolley of Marion, and George (Penny) Dolley of Columbia, S.C.; aunts and uncles, Duane Schneider, Barbara McMurrin, Buck Schneider, Gabby Elliott, Dan Schneider, Denise Griffin, Rod Schneider (all of whom were raised as brothers and sisters), and Walt Dolley and Cloyd Dolley; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Julian; grandparents, Frank and Ellen Dolley and Carol and Harold Schneider; father-in-law, Ronald Sutton; uncle, Roland Schneider; and aunt, Kay Zach.
Scott was born April 7, 1961, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Gordon Dolley and Jewel Dolley. He graduated from Marion High School in 1980, and afterward joined the U.S. Army where he served in radio communications. Scott married Sheryl Sutton on June 29, 1991. He was an employee of Mediacom where he worked as a technician for 30 years. Scott enjoyed bow hunting and spending time with his family.
