Mary Ann Jaeger, 80, of Manchester, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, at Marietta's Place in Manchester.
She was born Oct. 23, 1934, in Worthington, the daughter of Nicholas and Veronica (Kelchen) Polfer. Mary Ann was raised and educated in the area, and graduated from St. Paul's Catholic High School in Worthington. On July 3, 1952, Mary Ann was united in marriage to William Jaeger at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Worthington. Nine children were blessed to this union. Together they farmed near Masonville. In 1988, they moved and retired in Manchester.
Mary Ann loved being with her family, quilting, and researching family heritage. She was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and St. Mary Catholic Church. She served as past president of ACCW and volunteered at Camp Courageous garage sales.
Survivors include her husband, William Jaeger of Manchester; eight children, Jean Ann Lee and Judy (John) Riley, both of Manchester, Joyce (Brian) Francois of Masonville, James (Tami) Jaeger of DeWitt, Joseph (Lisa) Jaeger of Manchester, Jacqueline (Don) Steffen of Earlville, Julie (Kevin) Ferden of Neuman, Ga., and Jane (Randy) Fosaaen of Ossian; 32 grand-children; 40 great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Richard (Jean) Polfer of Peosta, Patricia (Wayne) Tauke of Cascade, Charles (Mary Jane) Polfer of The Villages, Fla., and Janet (Floyd) Funke of Dyersville.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Jeff Jaeger, in 1988.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Masonville, with the Rev. John Kremer and the Rev. Joseph Schneider concelebrating. Visitation: 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home, Manchester, where there will be a 2 p.m. Scripture service. Friends also may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with a family rosary at 9:30 a.m. Interment: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Masonville.
