Swenson, Michael S.

Michael S. Swenson, 42, of 100 First St. NE, died Monday, July 27, 2009, at his home, the result of an accidental fall. Memorial services at 3 p.m. on Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, where friends may call after 2 p.m. on Thursday. Inurnment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his mother and father, Terry "Theresa" and James Kadlec of Marion; his father, Jerry Swenson of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Steve (Sally) of Perry; and two sisters, Pam Dirks of Pensacola, Fla., and Deb (Scott) Raynal of Kearney, Mo. He also is survived by 10 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a niece, Lisa.

Michael was born on May 19, 1967, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Jerry and Theresa Fernandez Swenson. He graduated from Kennedy High School, received his BA degree from Hamilton College and in 2008 graduated from St. Ambrose College with a master's degree in business. Michael was a DJ/Media Consultant for several years. He enjoyed running, photography, traveling through Europe - especially Germany and Paris - and spending time with his many close friends.
