Moore, Richard R. 'Dick'
Richard R. “Dick” Moore, 64, of Amana, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at his home after a long illness. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel, Cedar Rapids. Pastor John Lynn will officiate. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.
Survivors include his wife, Linette; a daughter, Katlin Moore of Amana; and two sons, Ethan of Cedar Rapids and Tim (Jayme) of Lisbon; two brothers, Robert (Della) of Center Point and Ronald (Betty) of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Kellie (Mark) Corrigan of Toddville; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Dick was born July 6, 1948, in Toledo, the son of Edward and Jerry (Young) Moore. He graduated from Washington High School in 1966 and attended Iowa State University, studying veterinary medicine. Dick married Linette A. Grisham on Sept. 20, 1985, in Cedar Rapids.
Dick worked as a heavy equipment operator for the City of Cedar Rapids for over 23 years, retiring in 2012.
He was an avid horseman, riding, roping cattle and going to rodeos. His greatest love however was his family. He will be greatly missed and his memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Memorial donations may be given to Iowa City Hospice.
