Zarub, Irene E. Nedrow
Irene E. Nedrow Zarub, 102, a resident of Winslow House Care Center in Marion, died Sunday, May 6, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services: noon Saturday, May 12, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by the Rev. Peter Mitchell. The family will greet friends from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, before the service, at the funeral home. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Winter of Marion; three grandchildren, Jeff (Kay) Garnatz of Columbia, Mo., Jill Garnatz of Marion, and Joel (Jane) Garnatz of Waconia, Minn.; six great-grandchildren, Melissa, Bryan, Kelsey, Sam, Ben and Mitch; and two great-great-grandchildren, Tyler and Sophie.
She was preceded in death by two husbands and eight siblings.
Irene was born July 29, 1909, in Madrid, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Emma (Johnson) Tudeen. She married Bert Nedrow on Sept. 3, 1927. Bert died Dec. 6, 1989. Irene later married Lincoln Zarub, he has preceded her in death. She was employed at Collins Radio for many years. Irene was a member of Marion Christian Church and a former member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed spending time sewing and was an avid crossword puzzle worker.
