Mom joined Dad in heaven on Sunday, March 25, 2012, with her family at her side. A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Service: 11 a.m. Thursday with a visitation one hour before at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ann was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale where she met and married Chuck Bevins. They made their home in Cedar Rapids raising three daughters, Nancy, Dianne and Carla.
Ann worked and retired from Quaker Oats. Ann was an accomplished seamstress and in retirement she loved leaving winter behind and traveling south. She became active in Red Hats, card club and activities at Concordia Lutheran Church. Ann had adventure in her heart and kindness in her soul.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Miller, Dianne Bevins and Carla (Bob) Bevins; two granddaughters, Amber (Jim) Dostal and Colbi (Jermelle) Lewis; and two great-grandchildren.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bevins; parents, Mary and Earl Thompson; and brother, Thomas Thompson.
The family thanks 4th floor St. Luke's for their excellent care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to any Hospice of choice in Ann's name.
