Hawkins, Evelyn Theresa
Evelyn Theresa Hawkins, 98, Ossian, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011, at her home. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Schmitz-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Ossian, with a rosary at 4 p.m. lead by the Catholic Daughters of Americas and Scripture service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Ossian. The Rev. Monsignor Cletus Hawes will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Cemetery, Ossian.

Survivors include her four children, Joan (Clifton) Nelsen, Alden, James Hawkins, Ossian, Sr. Carol Hawkins, OSF, San Antonio, Texas, and Kathryn (Al) Block, Castle Rock, Colo.; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Lucille Fanning, the Rev. Peter Bodensteiner, Olivia Everet and Dr. Cletus Bodensteiner.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer Hawkins on August 22, 1932; two granddaughters, Christine Hawkins Ryan and Ann Marie Green; six siblings, Leonard J. Bodensteiner, Marcellus Bodensteiner, Agnes Winter, Hugo Bodensteiner, Leo Bodensteiner and Chris Bodensteiner; and son-in-law, Glen Green.
Schmitz-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Ossian, is in charge of arrangements.
