Fern Stueck, 102, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018, at the Vinton Lutheran Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St., Vinton, with Pastor Lexie Kirkpatrick officiating. The casket will be closed the day of the funeral. Interment will be in the Garrison Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday also at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society. Fern Wilson was born Aug. 12, 1916. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Vinton. Fern was united in marriage to Walter Stueck on Sept. 12, 1936, in Morrison, Ill. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1997.

Fern was a devoted farm wife supporting Walt and their work on the farm. She was a kind and loving soul who touched many lives. Fern was a member of the Vinton Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol (Dick) Flickinger of Garrison and Bobbi (Willie) Vogt of Eagan, Minn.; her grandchildren, Michael (Marlene) Grimm of Garrison, Janet Blin of Garrison, Laura Hootman of Vinton, Joshua Ludden of North Liberty and Emily (Pat) Rogers of Eagan; her granddaughter-in-law, Vicky Grimm of Garrison; and numerous great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-granddaughter expected in February.

Fern was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her daughter, Sally Ludden; grandson, Kim Grimm; and her sister, Helen Myers.
