Edward William Godar, born Aug. 18, 1962, the 12th child of John and Mary Godar of Marion, Iowa, died Oct. 21, 2017, in Toledo, where he lived in recent years with Reece McDuffee.
Ed had been in poor health for many years and spent much time with his horse, Cochise. He said that he credited being on top of the soil to Reece and his sister, Catherine, and would have passed years ago if not for them.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Along with Reece, he is survived by his sons, Tyson and Dustin Godar (Minneapolis) and William, and his daughter, Olivia Godar (Burlington); seven brothers; and five sisters.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at Tama Meskwaki Celebration Assembly of God Church, 900 E. Fifth St. in Tama. Luncheon will follow at the church.
