Dolores Emma Wisgerhof, 84, died Sunday, July 6, 2014, at Garnet Place in Cedar Rapids.
Funeral service: 10 a.m.
Friday, July 11, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer will officiate at the service. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at a
later date.
Dolores Emma Johnson was born June 2, 1930, in Polyclinic Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. She was the daughter of Joseph H. and Winona M. Freeze of rural Kellogg. She attended Barrett rural school and later graduated from Laurel High School. In 1948, she married Edward L. Wisgerhof in Zion Evan-gelical Church in Laurel. The couple farmed southeast of Laurel for eight years. In 1961, they moved to the Cedar Rapids Marion area.
She retired in 1997 from Mount Mercy College and Sacred Heart Convent after 15 years of service
She is survived by sons, Doug and wife Kathy of Des Moines, grandchildren, Scott and wife Alexa, great-grandchildren, Simone and Twyla; Laura and husband Adam, great-grandchildren, Mason, Madden and Charlie Humes; Gordon and wife Diane of Cedar Rapids, grandchildren Matt, Sara and husband Eric, great-grandchildren, Caroline and Meredith Thorner; Martin and wife Nancy of Plant City, Fla., and granddaughter, Maria.
Also surviving are two stepgrandsons, Chris and wife Steffaney and great-grandsons, Dylan and Sam Jeffery, and Mike and wife Wendy and great-grandchildren, Emma, Jack and Christian
Dawson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her only brother, Bob Johnson; two great-granddaughters, Kimberly and Nicole; and great-grandson, Ames.
She was a member of St. Paul's Church and the UMW.
