Iowa City man arrested for selling cocaine

A 29-year-old Iowa City man was arrested for selling drugs to officers during a controlled sale on March 29, police reports indicate.
Miguel A. Paredes, of 4494 Taft Avenue E15, sold cocaine to the officers. Paredes has been arrested for selling cocaine in the past as well, Iowa City Police said.
Iowa Court Records indicate that Paredes has a lengthy criminal history with felony charges for multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance, third-degree burglary, willful injury causing bodily injury, domestic abuse/assault while displaying a weapon and a variety of serious and aggravated misdemeanors.
Paredes was being held at the Johnson County Jail on a $10,000 cash or surety bond Sunday morning.
Controlled substance violation is a class C Felony punishable by up to ten years in prison and a $50,000 fine.
