Heiden’s administrative background a plus for county

Democrat and nonprofit leader Pat Heiden is running for a seat on the Johnson County Board of Supervisors. She would make an excellent supervisor.
Pat spent 37 years working at Oaknoll Retirement Community, where she started as a part-time clerk and worked her way up to executive director, overseeing 240 employees and managing complex budgets and operations.
In addition she has served on the boards of multiple community organizations. If you have served on a board with Pat, she has your vote. Pat treats others respectfully with earnest engagement and still manages to keep the meetings moving. Pat's background in senior services and mental health, and her commitment to serve the entire county, show that she understands our challenges and opportunities.
Unlike local city governments, which are professionally managed, Johnson County relies on the management of elected supervisors who typically lack a public administration background. Pat's executive and financial skills would be a real asset.
Of similar importance is Pat's reputation for decency. She is always fair and levelheaded. The Board of Supervisors would benefit from the decorum she will bring to it.
Please join us in supporting Pat Heiden on (or before) June 5.
