Cibula, Melvin R.
Melvin R. Cibula, 92, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a short illness. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Chelsea by Deacon Joe Behounek. Burial will be in Stayskal Cemetery, rural Chelsea. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine, where there will be a vigil service at 5:30 p.m. Visitation at the church will be one hour before the service.
Surviving are his sons, Richard D. (Sheryl) Cibula and Duane A. (Barbara) Cibula, both of Chelsea; sister-in-law, Mayme Kupka of Clutier; seven grandchildren, Cynthia (Russell) VanDee, Joseph Cibula, Dr. Susan (Jason) Simon, Dr. Charles (Bobbi) Cibula, Christian (Lisa) Cibula, Michael (Kylee) Cibula and Carolyn Cibula; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
