Will of judiciary vs. rational thinking

The “Will of the judiciary vs. rational thinking” is the title of this rebuttal to the Jan. 30 guest column, “Will of the people vs. rational thinking,” by Sandy Heth.
The will of the judiciary was evident when unelected activist justices of the Iowa Supreme Court usurped the power of the duly elected representatives by arbitrarily legitimizing homosexual marriage.
Further, irrational thinking abounded when this gaggle of partisan ideologues redefined the meaning of marriage and chose to ignore a western cultural tradition of one man/one woman, that has stood the test of time for thousands of years.
The tyranny of the minority has often led to persecution or death of millions of people. Communism under Joseph Stalin and Mao Zedong are two good examples of a small but powerful elite run amok. Incidentally, British monarchy under tyrant George III was instrumental in fermenting the American Revolution.
At Gettysburg, Abraham Lincoln said “that this nation under God shall have a new birth of freedom - and that government of the people, by the people and for the people shall not perish from this earth.”
