Overstake, Christene
Christene Overstake, 51, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home, Marhsalltown. Burial will follow in the LeGrand Friends Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home.

Born Oct. 5, 1958, she was the daughter of Joe and Betty (Halverson) Overstake. She graduated from the LDF High School in 1977. Christene worked as a dental tech for Dr. Blaha in Marshalltown, and later moved to Louisiana. She recently returned to Cedar Rapids.
Surviving are her children, Jessica, Jenny and Joey; her best friend and companion, Jerry Flatner; her parents, Joe and Betty Overstake of LeGrand; brothers, Ricky (Deborah) and their daughters Deidra, Dawn, Diana, Denise and Dana, all of Marshalltown, David (Tammy) and their son, Josh of Marshalltown, Stan (Elizabeth) and children Hannah and Connor, all of Marshalltown, and Jerry (Lynn) of LeGrand; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
In death, she was rejoined with her grandparents, Clarence and Maude Overstake and Elmer and Etta Halverson.
