Juran, Loras 'Split'
Loras “Split” Juran, 60, of Colesburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at the Iowa City VA Health Care System following a lengthy battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Edgewood, with Father Stephen Lundgren as celebrant. Interment, with military rites: St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, rural Colesburg. Visitation: 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Edgewood, where there will be a 2 p.m. Scripture service. There also will be visitation at the church on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m.
He is survived by his mother, Donna Juran of Edgewood; his children, Jason Juran of Colesburg, Aaron (Sara) Juran of Minneapolis and Justine (fiance Eric Roussel) Juran of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Zachary and Alexis Halverson, Blake Juran and Grady Wachendorf; his siblings, Judy (Dick) Vorwald of Edgewood, Rick (Laurie) Juran of Dyersville, Karen (Lonnie) Kruger of Manchester, Dale (Chris) Juran of Greeley, Mary Juran of Dundee and Kenny (Cathy) Juran of Coggon; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert; and his brother, Daniel in infancy.
