Some roads reopen as Cedar River continues to recede in Cedar Rapids

Some roads are reopening in Cedar Rapids as the Cedar River has receded below major flood stage.
As of 2:00 p.m. the Cedar River at Cedar Rapids was measured at 15.49 feet, a half foot below major flood level.
Some roads that have been closed for flooding are beginning to reopen, while others will remain closed as flood waters continue to recede.
According to a Cedar Rapids media release, Ellis Blvd NW between Ellis Lane and 18th Street has recently reopened, and motorists are being asked to slow down and give crews room to safely remove barricades.

1st Street NW between O Avenue and Penn Avenue
Penn Ave NW between O Avenue and Ellis Blvd
A Street SW between 17th Avenue and the Compost Facility
Ellis Rd NW, between Edgewood Road and Covington Road
Old River Road SW between Ely Road to Big Bend Road
Otis Road SE between Cargill to Fish Hatchery
