Harkin sets hearing on disability rights in Cedar Rapids July 13

WASHINGTON-- Sen. Tom Harkin, chairman of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, will convene a field hearing on disability rights and employment July 13 in Cedar Rapids.
The hearing will bring together local experts to examine effective strategies to help young adults with disabilities obtain opportunities to achieve success in the competitive labor market. It is the tenth in a series of hearings that the HELP Committee has held to examine barriers to employment, and identify solutions to increase the employment participation rate for all individuals with disabilities.
The hearing will be at 10 a.m. at Kirkwood Community College, 6301 Kirkwood Ave. SW, Iowa Hall, Rooms A-DThe rooms are fully accessible and accessible parking is also available.
