Gates, Shirley M.
Shirley M. Gates, 79, died Saturday, March 12, 2011, at the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home after a lengthy illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 17, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Aurora. Burial: Madison Cemetery, south of Aurora. Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Fawcett Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Winthrop and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Surviving family includes her seven children, Linda (Daniel) Oberbreckling of Coggon, John (Sheri) Gates of Eagle Grove, Ann Southers of Raymore, Mo., Gerald (Dianna) Gates of Aurora, Chris Gates of Rowley, Allen (Debbie) Gates of Vanceboro, N.C., and Janice Patten of Lumberbridge, N.C.; 27 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Veryl Crompton of Madison, Wis., and Jane Gray of Van Cleeve, Miss.
