Mims will continue to serve community
The Gazette Opinion Staff

Susan Mims has made significant contributions during her first term on the Iowa City Council. She helped in selecting a new city manager and pushed for adopting a citywide strategic plan to help guide planning and policymaking for our city. Other accomplishments include reduced property tax rates and the 21-only ordinance.
Mims has identified several issues of key importance in the future: continued attention to financial matters, taking advantage of and welcoming diversity for our community, public safety, economic development to expand the tax base, and continued neighborhood stabilization.
Her extensive community experience, as well as her education and professional background and ability to listen, make her an excellent council member. Re-elect Mims.
