Farmers market no place for dogs

To the editor:
It was a beautiful day for the first downtown farmers market. There was such a large crowd of people who came for the early start time.
What I continue to fail to understand is why people keep dragging their dogs to a heavily crowded market? Do you really think your dog enjoys people so close that they could get stepped on? The people are there to see what cool things the market has this year, not to watch for dogs that are constantly underfoot. It's a bad situation for your dog and they would be much better off left at home. I have several dogs and they do not get taken to the market.
