Wisconsin blasts Kernels

APPLETON, Wis. - Wisconsin starter Jimmy Nelson allowed one unearned runs in seven innings Sunday at the Timber Rattlers blasted the Cedar Rapids Kernels, 11-1, before 6,506 fans at Fox Cities Stadium.
The Kernels (25-37 second half) were limited to five hits, all singles. Catcher Francis Larson had two of the five Cedar Rapids hits.
Losing pitcher Jairo Diaz (0-2) allowed seven runs on nine hits in two innings.
The teams play Game 3 of the four-game series today at 7:05 p.m.
