Place responsibility where it belongs

To the editor:
Regarding the letter from Rose Grove ('High-speed chases have to stop now,” April 23).
Yes, he had a registration violation. I do believe that the charges against the driver are not harsh enough.
It wasn't the police who caused the accident, it was the pickup driver who ran the stop sign. He had a choice. Put the responsibility where it belongs.
I think that the police are dammed if they do and dammed if they don't. It's sad what happened. Life is not always fair.
