Cedar Rapids woman injured after crashing into light pole, rail road crossing light

A Cedar Rapids woman was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries after an accident near the intersection of Highway 151 and Wright Brothers Boulevard Monday night.
According to the Linn County Sheriff's Office, at 6:29 p.m. deputies and emergency responders were dispatched for the report of traffic accident.
As responders arrived on scene, they observed that that a vehicle driven by Brenda Runyan, 63, of Cedar Rapids had lost control while traveling west on Wright Brothers Boulevard, striking a light pole and rail road crossing lights near the rail road tracks on that street, according to the release.
Runyan was transported to the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City by Area Ambulance. Runyan's injuries are not expected to be fatal, and she had been wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to the release. Linn County emergency responders were aided on the scene by members of the Fairfax Fire Department according to the release.
The crash remains under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff's Office.
