Pitts should rethink ‘fake news’ assessment

Syndicated Columnist Leonard Pitts recently lamented that our society has 'given up our right to know” and has been 'fooled, faked or FOXed.” The implication seems to be a predictable insult to the intelligence of those with differing opinions than Pitts and that FOX news is fake news.
I watch Fox News as well as other news sources such as CNN, MSNBC and network news and local programming. I, and most Iowans I know, realize there is unfortunately bias in news reporting these days and do our best to fairly understand the issues. Does Pitts believe he is really smarter than the average Iowan, here in flyover country? As I recall reporting on recent news events, FOX News was one of the few outlets not to be 'JUSSIEed,” 'TAWANAed,” or 'COVINGTON CATHOLICed.”
