Betty E. Robison, 89, of Independence, formerly of rural Walker, died Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Lexington Estate in Independence.

She was born Feb. 12, 1927, in Troy Mills, Iowa, the daughter of Dean and Kathryn (Strang) Keller. She graduated from high school in Independence. On Dec. 12, 1948, she and Robert Robison were married at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She and her husband lived and farmed near Walker for over 60 years until she became ill. For 10 years, Mrs. Robison also made fishing flies for the Wapsie Fly Co. in Independence. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Rowley and Spencer's Grove Club.

Mrs. Robison enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, growing flowers in her garden and going to the casino. She taught classes on making porcelain dolls.

Mrs. Robison is survived by her husband of 67 years, Robert; three daughters, Vicky (Mike) Grover of Cedar Rapids, Debra (Steve) Yeisley and Laurie (Louis) Folken, both of Springville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and a half sister, Velma (John) Briggs of Gold Beach, Ore.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a great- grandson, Austin Folken.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, at the United Methodist Church in Rowley with Pastor Sheri Andersen officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence. Friends may call for visitation from 4 until 8 p.m. Monday, April 4, at White Funeral Home in Independence.
