Bonnie L. Conwell, 73, of Hale, passed away Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015, at Jones Regional Medical Center in Anamosa. Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Olin. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in the Olin Cemetery. Lahey Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their services.
Bonnie Lou was born Nov. 30, 1941, on a farm in rural Center Junction to John and Dorothy (Mohr) Wigger. She attended Olin Consolidated School. On June 27, 1958, she was united in marriage to Bruce Conwell at St. John's Lutheran Church in Olin.
Bonnie was a home-maker and for many years helped her mother run the post office and store in Hale, then worked at Cascade Forestry for about 10 years.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Olin. She enjoyed hunting mushrooms, fishing and visiting the casinos. She had a great love for her animals. Her greatest joy was taking care of her family and spending time with them.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Bruce; a son, Chad of Anamosa; a half sister, Melody (John) Reck of Robins; and a sister-in-law, Laverna (Dick) Glenn-Hansen of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Frederick Engelking; and a brother-in-law, James Glenn.
Memorials may be given in her honor to St. John's Lutheran Church of Olin Roof Fund.
