Letter: Sen. Grassley offends working class

I am sorry Sen. Chuck Grassley considers us low lifers because we did not have money, stocks, farms or businesses given to us, inherited, or forcefully acquired and that we had to work hard to take care of our families with what money we could earn.
We lost clothing deductions, mileage to work, then had NAFTA send our jobs to Mexico and/or China, that paid decent wages, and replace them with $7 hour jobs and claim a boom in hiring (at these newer low wages). Now we can look forward to higher health insurance, the cutting of Medicaid and Medicare and eventually higher taxes to make up for the larger deficit. Also, when the banks, industries and insurance companies fail and need us to bail them out again.
I am glad they have shown that the elite are their priority. I have not asked for state or federal aid as your elite have. I am proud of trying to take care of my family. I will remember how you feel about the majority of Iowans.
