Thomas John Kopernik, 55, of Chisago City, Minn., formerly of Marion, passed away Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, in St. Paul, Minn. The family will greet friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home

Tom was born Jan. 14, 1962, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Henry and Rose Marie (Panek) Kopernik. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. Tom enjoyed fishing, horses and music.
He is survived by his sister, Kathy (Blake) Mohr; brother, Michael (Kim) Kopernik; and nieces and nephews, Alyssa, Austin and Abby Mohr and Matthew and Adam Kopernik.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents.
