Kenneth "Kenny" Campbell, 86, of Marion, formerly of Springville, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Kenny is survived by his wife of 50 years, Suzanne Campbell; children, Danielle (Craig) Horak, Jeanine (Ken) Rathje, James (Bridget) Harford, Cathie (Tim) Medlin, Mike (Susan) Campbell and Tina (Keith) Arbore; one sister, Connie Lochner; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Vernon Baker and Ronald Campbell; and sisters, Barbara Nibeck, Iona Hrdlicka and Sandra Longerbeam.
Kenny was born June 29, 1930, in Paralta, Iowa, the son of Melvin and Lauretta (Baker) Campbell. He graduated from Springville High School. Kenny served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On July 16, 1966, he married Suzanne Louise Klotz in Cedar Rapids. Kenny worked as a supervisor for P&H Cranes. He loved watching the Cubs and supported his Iowa teams. Kenny enjoyed visiting his neighbors on his scooter and driving around the countryside viewing nature.
