Mikel, Wilford 'Mike' W.
Wilford “Mike” W. Mikel, 80, of Grinnell, died Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 22, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Grinnell. Interment will be at Hazelwood Cemetery, Grinnell. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell beginning at noon Wednesday and the family will be present at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials may be directed to St. Francis Manor or to St. John's Lutheran Church in Grinnell.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes Mikel of Grinnell; his seven daughters, Debra (Steve) Styers of Omaha, Neb., Laura (Ray) Hague of West Des Moines, Connie (Craig) Weir of Grinnell, Diane Mikel of Springfield, Mo., Brenda (Joe) Hicks of Wantage, N.J., Amy (Randy) Heil of Phoenix, Ariz., and Sarah Mikel of Las Vegas, Nev.; his daughter-in-law, Brenda Hagedorn of Grinnell; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one sister, Eleanor Mikel of Grinnell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Douglas Mikel; one daughter, Lousie Ruth Mikel; one sister, Teresa Mae Mikel; and one brother, Harvey Mikel.
