Steven A. "Steve" Hirt, 69, of Iowa City, died at his home Dec. 21, 2014.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Online condolences may be sent for his family through the website of the funeral home at www.

Steve was born Nov. 3, 1945, in Iowa City, the son of Russell R. and Helen M. (White) Hirt. Growing up in Iowa City, he attended schools there, graduating from City High School with the class of 1964. For many years, he worked for the University of Iowa as a computer technician.
Steve was a loving caregiver to his brother, Jim. He was an ardent Iowa wrestling and football fan. Steve enjoying biking and rode several years in RAGBRAI. When cousins wanted to see Steve, they found him after work hours at George's Buffet.
His family includes aunts, Carolyn Westfall and Janet White Cramer; and a number of cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents; grandparents; brother, James; and many aunts and uncles.
