New Hardee's opening in Cedar Rapids next week

The doors open for breakfast for the first time at 6 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony planned for 10 a.m. During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, restaurant owner Westar Foods Inc. will make a $500 donation to the Cedar Rapids Salvation Army food pantry.
The new Hardee's will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays, and 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sundays. The restaurant, which will initially employ about 70 full- and part-time associates, will offer free Internet WiFi service, drive-through service and seating for 96 customers.
“We are proud to open our fifth Cedar Rapids Hardee's location and to be rebuilding the brand in the Cedar Rapids market,” said Frank Westermajer president of Overland Park, Kan.-based Westar Foods. The Hardee's franchisee owns 28 locations.
The new 3,825-square-foot Hardee's features a brick and stone exterior. The building, located on the perimeter of a WalMart Supercenter, formerly housed a Steak ‘n Shake restaurant.
