Hinrichsen, Deloris L.
Deloris L. Hinrichsen, 81, of Marion, died Sunday, May 8, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a long illness. Services: 2 p.m. Sunday, May 29, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids, with family members presenting the Celebration of Life. Inurnment: private at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her children, Dennis Hinrichsen of Lansing, Mich., Ann Reinecke of Denton, Md., Barbara Shelton of Lisbon and David Hinrichsen of Cedar Rapids; her brothers, Mike Van Horn and Duane Van Horn, both of Cedar Rapids, and Larry Van Horn of Marion; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William J. Hinrichsen; and a brother, William Dean Van Horn.
Deloris was born March 2, 1930, in Garwin, Iowa, the daughter of Alven and Ida (Stamp) Van Horn. She married William J. Hinrichsen on Nov. 19, 1950, in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1948. Deloris was a homemaker, always giving great care to her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Noelridge Park Christian Church and also active in the church choir. She was a piano player and loved playing for her family and friends while living at the Villages. In her spare time she loved music, movies and books.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
