Marcy was born Nov. 17, 1932, at her grandmother's home in Van Horne, in the same bed that her mother was born in. She was the daughter of James and Mariece Davis. She married Harold O. Mason at Immaculate Conception Church on Feb. 18, 1950, and they raised their three children. She married Melvin Low on Sept. 18, 1997.
Marcy is survived by Melvin Low; daughter, Karen (Rick) Louk, their three daughters, Kara (Mark) Felber and their children, Quinn Eva and Maclain, Kamber (Jamie) Boeckmann and their sons, Kade and Landon, and Katie (Matt) Meidlinger and their son, Louk, all of Cedar Rapids; Marcy's son, James (Sally/Theresa) Mason of Bloomington, Ind., and his children, Anthony, Todd and Grant; and Marcy's son, Martin (Carin) Mason of Shenandoah, and their children, Brandon (Brittney), Brock and Lincoln.
Marcy was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Harold Mason; and her great uncle who helped raise her, Gabriel Martineus Hanson.
Marcy worked in retail at Killian's, May's Drug, and Seifert's Clothing before retirement. She loved life to its fullest: enjoying music, shopping, food, dance, and most of all, her family.
Courage, grace, and elegance describe the best way to remember the sunset on a life so well lived. We love you, GiGi.
In the final weeks of Marcy's life, Hospice of Mercy and the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy became a place of caring and love. Her survivors will be forever grateful for the care given to Marcy.
