Jones, Brian
Brian Jones, 24, of Iowa City, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a courageous 10-year battle with Wegener's Granulomatosis. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, 605 Kirkwood Ave., Iowa City. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to The Brian Jones Memorial Fund in care of Hills Bank & Trust.
Brian was born Dec. 24, 1984, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, the son of Bruce and Diane Furler Jones. He attended Iowa City West High School. Brian loved sports, his dog Marley and his family.
He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Survivors include his parents, Bruce and Diane of Iowa City; a sister, Tracy Jones of Estherville; his grandmother, Lauretta Furler of Marengo; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Brian was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Stuart and Virginia Jones; and his maternal grandfather, Edwin Furler.
