Collman, Kenneth Paul
Kenneth Paul Collman, 67, of Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, May 14, 2012, at Hospice of the Valley Care Center in Scottsdale after a lengthy battle with cancer. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 9, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Anamosa. A luncheon in the church basement will follow the service.
Survivors include his daughter, Jesse Collman of Flagstaff, Ariz.; a sister, Carol Sue Smith (Roger W.); a nephew, Joseph Louis Connelly; and a brother-in-law, Donald Connelly, all of Stone City; and his special friend and companion, Barb McCormack of Scottsdale.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis G. and Agnes A. Collman; his sister, Catherine A. Connelly; and an infant brother, James.
Ken was born March 3, 1945, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from Washington High School in 1963. He graduated from the University of Iowa and received his JD degree from the University of Iowa Law School.
He was an estate tax attorney for the IRA and a trust officer and limited partner with Edward D. Jones & Co. He spend the last 15 years of his career with Charles Schwab as a bond specialist.
Ken was an avid golfer who achieved a hole in one twice. He also enjoyed Hawkeye sports, travel and being with friends and family.
He was a loving father and a great man.
He will be greatly missed.
