Girls’ track and field: Area individuals to watch

Area girls' track and field individuals to watch for the 2015 season, with last year's state results:

JASMINE BLUE, jr., Cedar Rapids Jefferson - Class 4A state champion in the 800 relay and spring medley relay, 2nd in the 400 relay, 3rd in the 100.

EMMA COCHRANE, sr., Mount Vernon - Class 2A state champion in the 1,600 relay, 4th in the distance medley relay, 5th in the 3,200 relay and sprint medley relay.

SHELBY GUNNELLS, sr., Solon - Class 3A state champion in the shot put, 5th in the discus.

STEPHANIE JENKS, jr., Linn-Mar - Class 4A state champion in the 800, 1,500 and 3,000.

JOLISSA KRIEGEL, jr., BGM - Class 1A state champion in the 400, 2nd in the 200, 5th in the 400 relay and 6th in the sprint medley relay.

KATIE MASCHMANN, jr., Montezuma - Class 1A state champion in the 100 and 200, 3rd in the long jump.

NICOLE MILLER, sr., North-Linn - Class 1A state champion in the 3,200 relay, sprint medley relay and distance medley relay, 2nd in the 1,600 relay.

SARAH PLOCK, sr., Iowa City High - Class 4A state champion in the 400 hurdles, 4th in the 400, 6th in the 400 relay and sprint medley relay.

ABILENE RANSCHAU, jr., Cedar Rapids Jefferson - Class 4A state champion in the 800 relay and sprint medley relay, 2nd in the shuttle hurdle relay and 400 relay.

SYDNEY RICKELS, sr., Cascade - Class 2A state champion in the 400 relay, 800 relay and distance medley relay.

HALEY SCHROEDER, jr., Elkader Central - Class 1A runner-up in the 400 and 3,200 relay, 3rd in the 800 and 1,600 relay.

LUCY SCHNEEKLOTH, sr., Cedar Rapids Jefferson - Class 4A state champion in the 800 relay and sprint medley relay, 2nd in the 400 relay, 3rd in the 200.

TAYLOR SCHURING, jr., Decorah - Class 3A state champion in the sprint medley relay, 3rd in the 3,200 relay, 5th in the 400, 5th in the 1,600 relay.

JASMINE STAEBLER, sr., Clayton Ridge - Class 2A state champion in the 200, 400 and 800, 2nd in the sprint medley relay.
