Newcomb, Timothy James
Timothy James Newcomb, 54, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, July 21, 2012, at the Belle Plaine Nursing and Rehab Center. A Celebration of Life Service will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 29, at Shawnee Park. Teahen Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Tim is survived by his mother, Mary Ritchie; five sisters, Kathy (Mike) Corbett, Patsy (Rick) Koehn, Janice (Bill) Miller, Andrea Newgaard and Laura (Brian) Walker; three brothers, Bill (Cathy) Newcomb, Tom Newcomb and Jack Ritchie; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Newcomb.
Tim was born Oct. 11, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, the son of William and Mary Miller Newcomb and had served in the Army as a paratrooper.
Tim loved to start his day with the regular morning crowd at the Just Coz where he worked, and hosted and played trivia. He was a fan of the Rams, Hawkeyes, Dodgers and the Lakers. He enjoyed watching All Star Wrestling and TV Land shows, especially “The Andy Griffith Show.”
