Podcast: 'On The Record' on how the Lethality Assessment Program helps domestic violence victims

This installment of On the Record talks about the Lethality Assessment Program (LAP) that local law enforcement started using recently to measure a domestic violence victim's risk of being killed.

LAP relies on a series of questions that have been statistically proven to help gauge lethal risk. If officers find the victim is in lethal danger, they can refer resources to help keep victims and their families safe. The program was created by the Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence and has been adopted in Iowa, as well as states across the country.

The guests today are Anastasia Wilson, witness/victim coordinator with the Linn County Attorney's Office; Cedar Rapids Police Sgt. Cristy Hamblin; and Marion Police Lt. Scott Elam.
