Schultz, Helen M.
Helen M. Schultz, 78, a resident of Highland Ridge Community in Williamsburg, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died March 11, 2010, at Mercy Iowa City following an unexpected illness. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 19, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids. Pastor Kirk Statler, chaplain at Highland Ridge, will officiate. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. Entombment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Surviving are her daughters, Sheila Kann and husband Rodney of Mason City and Cindy Lower and husband Jimmy of Parnell; grandchildren, Carrie, Dawn (Chad), Eric, Luke (Lisa), Nate (Laci) and Trent; and great-grandchildren, Clayton, Jenn, Madison, Averie and Caden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband.
Helen May Schultz was born Jan. 27, 1932, in Portland, Ore., the daughter of Willis W. and Marie M. (Koenig) White. Following her education she was employed as an LPN at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. She was married to Paul W. Schultz on Aug. 11, 1950, in Vancouver, Wash. He preceded her in death in 1993. She and her husband were both members of VFW Post 788.
Helen enjoyed playing cards and bingo, and fishing. Above all her greatest enjoyment was time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by her family.
