Brown, Juanita S.
Juanita S. Brown, 88, a resident of the Eagle Point Nursing Home in Clinton, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, at Eagle Point after a short illness. Memorial services at 1 p.m. Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include a son, Craig of Hopkins of Minnesota; and a daughter, Sharon Tenney of Helena, Mont.
She is also survived by four grandchildren, Trent Tenny, Chris Yancey, Kim Banker and Tom Nowlin; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parent and a daughter, Susan.
Juanita was born on Feb. 10, 1922, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Grover and Daisy Bizeck Burts. She married Louis E. Brown on Dec. 31, 1952, in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1989. Juanita worked in assembly at Rockwell Collins and retired from there after more than 25 years of service.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Eagles and Moose Clubs and the VFW Auxiliary. Juanita was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial fund has been established in Juanita's name.
