Les Miles is the mad hatter

Lots of Kirk Ferentz and Les Miles out there on the internet the last couple days.
This is a link someone brought up to me on this blog or on chat Saturday.
It's a post by AOL Fanhouse's Brett McMurphy praising LSU's Miles and the haphazard ways he's won games the last few years. Unconventional and probably lucky, is the point of the post.
Here's the part of the post that got my attention:
Here's a look at the winning percentage and record in games decided by eight points or less of the 27 teams that have been to BCS bowls since 2005:
Pct. School (Record)
77.3 Cincinnati (17-5)
76.7 LSU (23-7)
73.7 Oregon (14-5)
73.3 Boise State (11-4)
68.4 Texas (13-6)
66.7 West Virginia (16-8)
66.7 Hawaii (14-7)
66.7 TCU (12-6)
63.6 Utah (14-8)
63.6 Georgia Tech (21-12)
63.6 Utah (14-8)
62.5 Penn State (10-6)
61.1 Florida (11-7)
58.6 Georgia (17-12)
58.3 USC (14-10)
56.5 Kansas (13-10)
56.5 Oklahoma (13-10)
53.6 Alabama (15-13)
51.6 Wake Forest (16-15)
50.0 Notre Dame (12-12)
50.0 Ohio State (7-7)
48.1 Michigan (13-14)
47.4 Illinois (9-10)
45.0 Virginia Tech (9-11)
43.5 Louisville (10-13)
42.9 Florida State (12-16)
42.3 Iowa (11-15)
______
I went through Iowa's scores and I got 10-14 (41.6). I might be missing something, though.
But, this stuff really does even out. If you go back to 2004, Ferentz's Hawkeyes were 5-0 in games decided by eight or fewer. This season, Iowa is 0-for-2. That's 15-16.
I wanted to find a way to get the boxscore, Iowa's cumulative stats and Ferentz's comments from last Saturday night on the blog.
This is not intended for judgment purposes on my part. I wanted to provide the link. It's certainly a topic this week.
What do you think?
Iowa's Derrell Johnson-Koulianos (15) is congratulated by Head Coach Kirk Ferentz after catching a long touchdown pass during the second half of their Big Ten Conference College Football game against Wisconsin Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010 at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City.
